Tips for Long Term Water Storage

Everybody wants water to survive, so I highly recommend your survival planning starts with water storage.

In a previous article, I stated that I thought that it was much better to store water that was bought from a credible source because I felt that this was more clean than the tap water found in most homes.

When I say bought, I mean water that has already been filtered commercially. I am living in a city that has been designated a "Superior" water supply according to the state authorities. Nevertheless when I was running some water in the sink I sensed that I was smelling chlorine. This was the same kind of smell that you might notice around a pool in the summer.

I hadn't spotted this when using the water that was filtered through my refrigerator so I presumed it may be the filter helping to eliminate the smell. I went to the manufacturer's product site and started to read about the specs for my filter type.

As I spent more time going through the documents, I found a link to a article done by a state school in Ohio that provided the testing results of many community water systems. As I searched through the list, finding my city, it became extremely clear to me, my water supply may be "Superior", but compared to what?
